Personal Income Growing Slower Than Economy
일인당 국민소득 증가가 경제성장률보다 밑돌아
*Aggravated trade conditions could result in the real gross national income (GNI) actually *contracting in the first quarter of this year, a private research institute said in a report yesterday.
* GNI : Gross National Income : 국민총소득
* aggravate : to make more serious, make worse 더 악화시키다,
* contract : to become smaller 축소하다
무역환경의 악화로 실제로 올 1/4분기 국내 실질 국민총소득이 실질적으로 감소될 것이라고 한 민간 연구소가 어제 발표했다.
The Hyundai Research Institute said the worsening trade conditions will also mean that the real gross domestic product will also grow at a *dismal rate of just 2.2 percent in the same quarter.
* dismal : showing or causing sadness, lacking comport:우울한, 불길한
현대 경제연구소는 악화된 무역 상황은 또한 같은 분기에 실질 국내총생산 역시 2.2%의 낮은 증가율을 의미한다고 언급했다.
According to the institute, the possible contraction of the real GNI is a *reflection of the poor economic conditions experienced at the consumer level. The GNI takes into *consideration the actual gain in import and export *transactions and shows consumers' actual *purchasing power.

* consideration : careful thought, attention 고려, 숙고, 배려
* transactions : the act of transacting 처리, 집행, 거래
* purchase : buying 매입, 구매
이 연구소에 따르면, 소비수준에서 나타나는 경제 불황을 반영한 실질적인 국민총소득의 감소의 가능성이 있다고 한다. 국민총소득(GNI)은 수출입의 결과에 따른 무역손익을 감안하여 소비자의 실질적인 구매력을 나타내는 지표이다.
