Citizens *Dissatisfied With Public Transportation

서울 지하철과 시내버스에 불만
Citizens are generally dissatisfied with the service of Seoul's
subways and buses, a recent *survey showed.

최근 조사 결과 시민들은 서울시 지하철과 버스 이용에 총체적으로
불만스러운 것으로 나타냈다.
People riding subways complained of *noise pollution and *irregular intervals, while bus passengers cited inconveniences such as incorrect bus announcements and the skipping of bus stops.

지하철을 이용하는 시민들은 소음 공해와 불규칙한 배차 간격에 불만을 나타냈고 버스 이용객들은 잘못된 버스 안내 방송과 정류장을 그냥 지나치는 일 등을 불편함으로 들었다.
These were the results of the white paper which was published
yesterday by *Green City, a civil organization that deals with solving traffic problems in Seoul.

이러한 결과는 서울시 교통 문제 해결에 종사하고 있는 시민 단체인
녹색교통운동이 어제 발표한 백서에서 언급된 내용이다.
According to a survey conducted in August of 336 subway passengers, recipients gave an average of 42.78 out of 100 points when *evaluating subway service.

지난 8월에 지하철 승객 336명을 대상으로 한 조사에서 응답자들은 지하철 서비스를 평가한 결과 100점 만점에 평균 42.78점을 주었다.
While passengers were *relatively satisfied with the riding time, the subway station announcements and the *frequency of trains, they complained of the long distance that is required for them to walk to make *transfers.

승차 시간과 지하철 안내 방송, 운행 빈도에는 비교적 만족스러운 것으로 나타났지만, 지하철을 갈아탈 때 많은 거리를 걸어야 하는 점이 불만인 것으로 나타났다.
The crowdedness as well as the noise and air pollution in the trains were other complaints *lodged by citizens.

소음 공해 및 공기 오염뿐 아니라 지하철의 혼잡스러움도 시민들이 제기한 또 다른 불만 사항이었다.
The noise pollution in the stations and the trains was also found to be at a *serious level.

지하철역과 열차 내의 소음 공해는 심각한 수준인 것으로 드러났다.
According to a sample survey conducted at two stations of each
subway line last December, the average noise pollution at subway
stations and trains reached respective levels of 78.40 and 73.12
decibels. At those ranges, people lose their concentration and begin showing early stages of hearing loss.
지난 12월 각 지하철 노선에서 2개역을 대상으로 실시된 표본 조사에
따르면 지하철 역과 열차내의 평균 소음 공해는 각각 78.40과 73.12
데시벨을 기록했다. 이 정도 수치라면 사람들은 집중력을 잃게 되고 청각 상실의 초기 증세를 보일 수 있다.
