Customers Report 2,500 Cases of Losses From Online Shopping
온라인쇼핑의 피해신고 2,500건
A growing number of customers are *suffering losses from online
shopping, including Internet shopping malls, TV home shopping and
telemarketing.

점점 더 많은 고객들이 인터넷 쇼핑몰, TV 홈쇼핑과 텔레마케팅을 포함한
온라인쇼핑에서 피해를 보고 있는 중이다.
According to the *Korea Consumer Protection Board yesterday, a total
of 2,501 consumers reported that they *incurred financial damages
from e-trade during the first 11 months this year, a four-fold increase
from the *corresponding period last year and the number of
complaints has doubled to 15,304.

어제 한국소비자보호원에 따르면, 금년들어 11개월동안 전자상거래에서 입
은 금전적인 피해로 신고들어 온 것이 2,501건으로 작년 같은 기간동안에
비해 4배 늘어났으며 불만신고는 두 배로 늘어난 15,304건이라고 한다.
TV home shopping was the number one source of losses with 1,447
cases, up 10-fold from last year. Complaints regarding telemarketing
and Internet shopping malls also showed a three-fold increase,

작년보다 10배나 늘어난 TV 홈쇼핑이 1,447건으로 가장 많은 신고가 들어
왔다. 텔레마케팅과 인터넷 쇼핑몰의 불만신고도 각각 3배나 늘어 났다.
The losses from TV home shopping were mainly *attributed to Star
Shopping's *bankruptcy. The firm was also blamed for delayed
deliveries early this year.

TV홈쇼핑의 피해건수는 대부분 스타쇼핑의 부도로 인한 것이었다. 스타쇼핑
은 또한 금년 초부터 배달지연으로 욕을 먹었다.
Most losses were found to have resulted from failed or delayed
deliveries, unfair prices and refusal to issue *refunds.

대부분의 피해는 배달누락, 배달지연, 바가지요금 그리고 환불 거부등으로
밝혀졌다.
``Consumers should be careful of *fraudulent marketing schemes
employed by some online sales promotion companies. They need to
double-check the *legitimacy of online shopping malls before ordering
goods,'' said a KCPD official.

"고객들은 온라인 판매회사에서 자행하는 사기성 마케팅기도에 주의해야 한
다. 그들은 상품을 주문하기 전에 쇼핑몰의 적합성을 이중으로 점검할 필요
가 있다."라고 한국소비자보호원 당국자가 말했다.
