W1 Tri. to Be Injected Into Mutual Savings and Finance Companies
신용 금고 업계에 1조원 투입될 듯
Depositors will be able to *withdraw up to 20 million won at mutual savings and finance companies although they are forced to suspend operations.

신용 금고 업계가 영업 정지를 당하더라도 예금자들은 2,000만원까지는 회수 받을 수 있게 된다.
The withdrawal will be available because the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) has decided to inject one trillion won from this week into the ailing mutual savings and finance companies *plagued with the run on deposits incurred by a series of financial scandals.

이는 잇따른 금융 비리 발생으로 인한 예금 인출사태로 곤란을 겪고 있는 부실 신용 금고 업계에 금융 감독원이 이번 주 안으로 1조원을 투입하기로 결정했기 때문에 가능한 것이다.
The FSS said that the Korea Deposit Insurance Corp. will finance the withdrawal of deposits up to 20 million won at the mutual savings and finance companies.
금융 감독원은 대한 예금 보험 공사가 신용 금고 업계에서 2,000만원
한도의 예금액 회수를 지원할 것이라고 발표했다.
At present, depositors are allowed to withdraw only one million from their accounts when mutual savings and finance companies are forced to *halt their operations for a given period of generally six months.

현재, 신용금고 업계가 일반적으로 6개월로 정해진 기간동안 영업을
정지당하게 되면 예금주들은 자신들의 계좌에서 1백만원까지만 인출하도록 허용되어 있다.
The Korea Asset Management Corp. has also set aside 400 billion won to buy problem loans to help ailing mutual savings and finance.
한국 자산 관리 공사 역시 부실 신용 금고 업계의 부실 채권 4,000억원 정도를 인수하게 된다.
The regulatory body said that mutual savings and finance companies have a flood run on deposits in the wake of a loan scandal involved in Dongbang, and are suffering huge liquidity shortages.
금감원은 금고업계가 동방금고와 관련된 대출 비리로 인해 계속해서
예금액이 빠져나가고 있으며 유동자금 부족으로 어려움을 겪고 있다고
언급했다.
Under a rescue package, local banks establish credit lines with
cashless savings and finance firms and then supply money on the
*mortgage. The troublesome firms have already been matched with local banks for the injection.

구제책으로 국내 은행들은 현금이 고갈된 금고 업계와 크레디트 라인을 설정하고 이를 담보로 자금을 지원하게 된다. 사정이 어려운 금고들은 이미 자금 투입을 위해 국내 은행과 연결되어 있다.
One FSS official said the regulatory body will continue its audit inspection into the firms until Dec. 14, to ease the customers' inconvenience. Now, some 10 finance companies have been under *inspection for alleged illegal lending.
* inspection : examining closely or in detail : 정밀조사, 감찰, 검열
금감원은 12월 14일까지 금고업계에 대한 회계 감사를 계속 실시하여
고객들의 불편을 해소할 것이라고 금감원의 한 관계자는 말했다. 현재 10개 금융 기관들이 불법 대출 관련 조사를 받고 있다.
The FSS will not inspect other firms after wrapping up the
investigation in progress.
금감원은 진행중인 조사를 마무리하면 다른 기관들은 조사하지 않을
계획이다.
