Gov't Plans to Revise Anti-Communist Law
정부, 반공법 개정하기로
The government plans to revise the controversial National Security Law, an anti-communist legal device that is widely considered as a vestige of the bygone Cold War era, and see proposed human rights and anti-corruption bills clear the National Assembly within the first half of this year.
정부는 냉전시대의 잔재로 널리 간주되고 있는 반공의 법적장치로 논란이 되고 있는 국가보안법을 개정하기로 계획을 세우고, 금년도 상반기 중에 국회에서 인권법과 함께 처리하기로 하였다.
These are key legal issues that have been put on hold since last year, due largely to the political impasse entailing fierce inter-party wrangling.
In particular, the revision of the anti-communist law, which has been ``abused'' as a tool to repress dissidents, was *bogged down over the
