Another Snowfall *Wreaks *Havoc

Due to another massive snowfall *engulfing the central part of the Korean peninsula, flight services on most domestic and international routes were again *suspended and major highways were *restricted, creating havoc all over the nation.

한반도 중부지방을 강타한 또 한차례의 폭설로 대부분의 국내 및 국외 항공기 운항이 또 다시 중단되었으며 대부분의 고속도로도 통행이 제한되고 있어 전국적으로 대혼잡을 초래하고 있다.
With heavy snow advisories reissued in the Seoul, Kyonggi and
Kangwon regions at 9 a.m. yesterday, the freeze of airport operations continued for the third *consecutive day, causing great *inconvenience to passengers.

어제 오전 9시 서울, 경기, 강원지역에 또 다시 대설 주의보가 내려진 가운데 항공기 운항이 3일째 계속 중단되고 있어 이용객들이 큰 불편을 겪고 있다.
Traffic was partly *resumed on the Seoul-Kangnung expressway
yesterday, but was cut off again in the afternoon when snow started to fall.

어제 서울-강릉간 고속 도로가 부분적으로 개통되긴 했으나 오후부터 눈이 내리기 시작해 다시 통제되었다.
A flight from Taegu had successfully arrived in Kimpo at 7:55 a.m, but all domestic flights, excluding some to Cheju, were suspended in the morning after snow began to fall, airport officials said.
대구발 항공기가 오전 7시 55분 김포공항에 성공적으로 도착하긴 했으나 눈이 다시 내리기 시작하자 아침부터 일부 제주 구간을 제외하고는 모든 국내 항공기 운항이 중단되었다고 공항 관계자들이 전했다.
Some international flights headed to Russia or China were also
suspended due to bad weather.
러시아나 중국을 향한 일부 국제선 운항도 악천후로 인해 중단되었다.
A total of 88 of the 169 domestic flights scheduled in the morning were suspended, registering a *cancellation rate of 52.1 percent. Twenty flights, or 11.8 percent of the total flights, were also delayed.

For international flights, 14 out of 66 flights were cancelled and nine were delayed.

Korean Air stopped *boarding procedures for domestic lines at 8: 30 a.m.
